Establishing Services

We are constantly looking at ways where we can generate income that will both provide employment and training for people in the local community and also generate funds so that we can do more work with our projects.

Our carpentry and tailoring services are now accredited by TEVET (Technical Entrepreneurial Vocational Education and Authority) which is recognised by the Malawi Government and other African countries. Having a TEVET accredited qualification assists young people with technical skills, and is an advantage for them if they decide to go to technical schools or in finding a job.

For each student the ARK Foundation still have to pay a certificate processing fee, and an examination fee which costs MK 11,340 (approx GBP 50)

Services

We also give a 20% discount to someone from our community when they use one of our services. If its a tailoring service and that person has his/her own material then we help for free, depending on this person's personal circumstances.
